What is Running Yield vs Redemption Yield?

  • Running Yield: Also known as Current Yield, it is the annual income (interest/dividend) divided by the current market price of the instrument.
  • Redemption Yield: Equivalent to Yield to Maturity (YTM). It includes both income and capital gains/losses at redemption.

Running yield helps with short-term comparisons, while redemption yield is better for long-term bond investments.
