Can my demat account also be frozen along with my trading account?

Yes, your demat account (held with the depository) may also be frozen if:

• KYC is incomplete or invalid
• PAN-Aadhaar is not linked
• There is a regulatory order from SEBI/NSDL/CDSL
• You have requested a freeze for security reasons

Freezing of Demat will restrict transfer/sale of securities but won’t affect dividend or credit of shares.
