What is a stock split?

A stock split is a corporate action where a company divides its existing shares into multiple shares to increase liquidity and affordability.

For example, in a 2-for-1 stock split, if you own 100 shares priced at ₹1,000 each, after the split, you will own 200 shares priced at ₹500 each.
